Geeky 365 -- Day 9

Orion will be spending some quality time with his daddy this weekend.  They always have a lot of fun when they are together so that makes me happy.  Today's picture was taken first thing this morning, when dropping O off at school.  He looks like such a big boy.

Geeky 365 -- Day 8

Geeky 365 -- Day 6

Tonight Orion got to spend the evening with his daddy, playing swords, eating spaghetti, and watching movies.  It was a good night for them.   Here are some shots of the two of them having fun:

Geeky 365 -- Day 5

Today Orion & I spent the day at home together just enjoying each other's company.  We played with his animals, did some sword fighting, watched some movies.  The boy at lots of toast and we watched a couple movies.  All and all it was a totally unproductive, much needed day.  I think we both needed a day to just chill after the chaos of yesterday.  I'm glad I decided to take it.  After asking Orion how he felt today, this was his response:

I think we are going to be ok.

Geeky 365 -- Day 4

Today was the kind of day that no parent wants to experience.  It was definitely one that I hope to never have to repeat! Let me start of by saying that Orion is fine.   With that in mind let's get to our story.

This morning was the kind of day where there was nothing going on, no plans, and lots of sunshine.  Orion and I had breakfast, got dressed, and decided to take a trip to the park.  That is where our day took quite a turn.  I took my camera along so I could take some pics and hope to get a good shot for the 365 project.  We were running around taking pictures when we got to a small bridge that goes over a cement filled creek.  I sat the timer on the camera and sat it down so I could get a pic of the two of us together.  As I turned O accidentally stepped off the side of the bridge, onto the embankment (which was luckily mud!) and rolled down into the cement at the bottom.   I ran down the embankment and picked up the crying boy.  He went limp in my arms.  I carried him up the hill and called 911.  He started crying again immediately but I was still terrified.  His biggest complaint was that he had lost his shoe.  The sheriff showed up quickly followed by the ambulance.  They started the trip out with O in a neck brace & on the back board...but by the time we got to the hospital he was curled up in my lap.   The doctors looked over O and everything checked out fine.  He had a cut on his head, but that wasn't even big enough for stitches.  No other cuts, no broken bones, no serious bumps.  O's daddy met us at the hospital and took us all home.  When I got back to my car I saw Orion's shoe waiting for us in the seat of my car.  The lovely sheriff had gone back to the creek to search for it.  I am so grateful that everything turned out ok, but I have never been that scared in my life.  My son means the world to me and seeing him in any sort of pain breaks my heart.  He is such an amazing kid.  By the time we got back to the house he was hunting through his toys for swords and shields and was ready to run and play.  He truly is a blessing to the lives of everyone around him.  Today's pic is one of O's head wound.  It makes me sad to see, but it also reminds me of how lucky I am that it was his only injury (by WHY always the face!!).

Geeky 365 -- Day 3

Today has been a pretty exciting day.  Orion got a serious hair cut and has spent all day playing and laughing.  I think he loves not having to fight with his hair in his face all day long.   I'm only required to post 1 picture a day, but today has been too much fun so I'm going to post a few.

Waiting patiently at the barber shop.

Getting his hair cut

Sitting in the chair like a big boy.

The back of his hair.
Riding Callisto
Eating some lunch.
I think he approves.

Lil Geek 365--Day 1

Orion is growing so quickly.  He is incredibly smart and makes me smile constantly.  The last year has flown by, so I'm hoping to catch a better hold of the next one.  In an effort to do that I am going to do a picture a day project of Orion for this blog...Project 365.  So starting today I will be posting a pic of O each day.  Wish me luck.   Without further ado, I give you day 1:

You can almost hear the laughter.  I love the look in his eyes and the little peak of dimple that is showing.   Let's see what the next year brings.
