Geeky 365 -- Day 157

O's birthday party is coming together.  We've got the cake ordered and a few of his friends from school will be coming to celebrate with us.  I'm very excited by that.  Although the idea of 30ish people being in my house is a little crazy, but not really all that unexpected or unusual.  Orion is so loveable that everyone wants to be around him.   Who can blame them?  He is so funny and has so much personality.  I'm a lucky momma.

Geeky 365 -- Day 156

Tonight O's Aunt Ashley came over to spend some time with him.  They played on the phone and ended up playing Ninja Fruit on the Xbox together.  Ashley is so good with him and he loves to tease her and play around with her.  I'm glad to have my sister close by to randomly visit...even if we spend half the evening doing absolutely nothing.

Geeky 365 -- Day 154

Today was a busy day for Orion.  First we drove into Omaha and took O to the art museum.  They had a temporary Egyptian display that we were all very excited to see.

After that we drove back to Milford so Orion could attend one of his friend's birthday party.  He had a lot of fun seeing his friends outside of the day care and I got a chance to talk to some of the room moms, which I really enjoyed actually.

Geeky 365 -- Day 153

It's Friday once again.  That means just one more week to prepare for O's third birthday.  *sigh*  It seems too soon.  Oh well.  This weekend O has big plans to go to a museum, a birthday party, and spend lots of time playing.  It's a rough life he leads I tell ya.

Geeky 365 -- Day 152

One more day down, one more to go til the weekend.  This week at day care Orion's class began to learn the letters of the alphabet.  They are doing one letter a day.  I somehow think that before I know it O will have all of those memorized too.  I find myself asking daily how he got so big so fast.  It's hard to remember how tiny he was.  I know I have said that a lot lately...but I think the reality of him turning 3 and moving into preschool has really made all of that more apparent to me.   Orion never ceases to amaze me.  He is such an incredible little boy that is growing up way to fast for this momma's liking.

Geeky 365 -- Day 151

Orion is glad to be back on schedule I think.  He wakes up happy and is always ready to go "see his kids" at school.  I talked to the program manager at his day care today and he will be transitioning into the Preschool classroom in May.  I can't believe he will be going to preschool.  I'm definitely not ready, even though he's excited for the move.  What happened to my little baby?  *sigh*  Oh well....at least he's excited about it.

Geeky 365 -- Day 150

We are finally back home and back to the daily schedule.  O was very excited to be at school this morning...definitely more excited than I was to go back to work.  At least it's a short week and this weekend O get's to go to a friend's birthday party and we may take him to the museum to see some awesome Egyptian stuff.  Either way, I'm glad to be back home.  He even seems to be glad to be sleeping in his own bed.  He told me both last night and tonight that it was time to take his blankets upstairs.  I can definitely get used to that.

Geeky 365 -- Day 148

Today has been a very laid back day.  We've been on the go all weekend and tomorrow will be more of that so we decided to just lounge around the house.  It was nice because O got to spend time with both of his aunts.  They watched movies and read stories.  It was a nice, relaxing day.

Geeky 365 -- Day 147

Today we took Orion to see his grandpa in Stapleton.  He had a lot of fun chasing the dogs around and playing with his grandpa.

Orion loves horses so they got out a bunch of old toys, including a bunch of play horses, so O was pretty entertained.  He ran around the house making horsey noises and making different action figures ride around on them.

Orion and his grandpa then took the dogs outside.  His dad and I followed and we ended up having a snow ball fight.  Orion was laughing so hard.  He thought it was hilarious any time someone ended up getting pegged with a snowball.

Orion also took pictures of everyone and just seemed to have a really good day.  It was nice for them to get to spend time together.

Geeky 365 -- Day 146

Today we took Orion to see my parents and grandparents.  He had so much fun playing with all of them and laughing.   They played and played.  He is such a fun kid to have around.  People love to see him and his laugh is infectious.  He had a pretty awesome day I think.  Tomorrow we road trip to Stapleton to see his grandpa.

Geeky 365 -- Day 145

Orion is back in North Platte with me so his schedule is totally shot for the next few days.  We spent the day just wandering about the town.  We got to see his aunt Arlana and then took him to Cody Park to see the animals they had there.  He loved the "reindeer" and got to feed the geese.  He had lots of fun listening to them honk and throwing food at them.  It's a nice change of attitude from the mourning that everyone else seems to be doing here.  His upbeat mood makes everyone's day a little brighter.   He's such a blessing.  I think everyone is glad to have him around.

Geeky 365 -- Day 144

Orion's fever finally broke so he was finally able to go back to school.  Unfortunately his great-grandfather passed away last night so we will be heading back home to spend some time with the family before the funeral.  At least he got to go back to school one day this week?  *sigh*   He was definitely ready to be back.

Geeky 365 -- Day 143

Poor O got stuck staying at home sick again today, which means he missed out on his Valentine's day party at day care.  He spent the day with his daddy, but on our way into town we stopped by the school and dropped off his Valentines.  They sent him home with a balloon and treats.  I don't think he was too upset after that!  His fever seemed to last most of the day, but by this evening he seemed to feel a whole lot better.  Hopefully tomorrow it will be back to business as usual.  I hate when the little guy is sick.  He usually has a great attitude, but I feel bad that he doesn't feel good.  He was definitely back in full swing, being playful and obnoxious tonight though so Yay!

Geeky 365 -- Day 142

Today O stayed home sick.  He had a fever and a terrible cough.  I hate seeing that poor little guy sick.  Here's hoping that tomorrow is a better day for him.

Geeky 365 -- Day 141

Geeky 365 -- Day 140

It's hard to blog about a time that I haven't spent with Orion.  The kid is outstanding though and I don't know what I would do without him.  There really isn't much more that needs to be said than that.

Geeky 365 -- Day 139

Orion is spending the weekend with his daddy, but I had the morning off so I decided to spend some extra time with him before sending him off to school.  We had a big breakfast and spent the morning with him helping me pack his suit case and playing around.  I love spending time with him.  His smile is contagious.  I can't help but be happy when he laughs.  I am glad he'll be getting some quality 1-on-1 time with his dad though.  It's something the two of them definitely need.  I always miss the little booger though.  I've been working on the plans for his birthday.  I can't believe it's only a couple weeks ago.  Where has the time gone?

Geeky 365 -- Day 138

Orion and I spent a relaxing evening just hanging out together.  We made supper, he took a bubble bath, we played with some dinosaurs and horses (yes...at the same time), and we watched Beauty and the Beast.  We got that movie at Christmas and he still loves it.  I love sharing it with him since it was one of my very favorites.  Orion was pretty sleepy, but he was in a really good mood anyway.  He was full of smiles and jokes.  I can't get enough of this little face.  What a cute kid!

Geeky 365 -- Day 137

Last night I busted out the Kinect for Orion to play on with his dad.  Orion had a blast playing a game called "Fruit Ninja" where you use your arms and your awesome Karate skills to ninja the heck out of some fruit.  He had a blast.  He kept telling me "I punch the apples!"  We'd switch to a different game and he'd say "NO!  I want to play MY game.  That's Mommy's game!"  I'm really glad he enjoys it.  That means I will get more time to play with it too.  It was a lot of fun for sure.

Geeky 365 -- Day 136

Orion is incredibly curious.  He is into everything, opening up all the drawers and cabinets to see what's inside.   He is always asking "Why?" and wanting to know more about practically everything.  It's a lot of fun, but also tends to be a bit...umm...messy?  If he can't see everything in a drawer or cupboard he will take everything out so that he can.  If he's looking for one thing in particular he will dig until he finds it.  He will push every button, switch, etc.  I love watching him learn and grow.

Geeky 365 -- Day 135

Tonight Orion used the Google+ Hangout feature to spend some quality time with his family.  He was able to chat with his daddy, aunt, and grandpa all at the same time from different locations all across the state.  Everyone was pretty entertained by watching him run around like a crazy person and telling stories over and over.  It was a lot of fun to watch.  I'm an avid google user and this is just one more service that I'm incredibly pleased with.  Now O can spend time face-to-face with family that are hundreds of miles away, meaning he wouldn't get to see them that often otherwise.  He enjoyed it and I am pretty sure they were all thrilled to get to see him too.  O was exhausted by bed time and fell asleep pretty quickly.  Let's just hope he stays that way.

Geeky 365 -- Day 133

Today was a pretty uneventful day in our household.  We ended up with a ton of snow so we were pretty much stuck inside.  We ended up building Orion's first lego set, which he really enjoyed.  He isn't quite big enough to do it on his own yet, but we had fun putting it together.

We spent a lot of time today cooking and baking so the house was warm and smelled great.  We also busted out some toy dragons and flew them around the house for a while.  Orion really wanted to go outside, but it was SUPER cold and we got too much snow to do a whole lot, so we tried to just keep entertained.  I'd say that it was a pretty good day either way.

Geeky 365 -- Day 132

Today marks the start of a weekend with Orion.  There is supposed to be a big snow storm on the way here, so O and I will probably be stuck in the house, just the two of us, for most of the weekend.  I'm not at all upset by that.  Hopefully we don't get as much snow as they're forecasting, but if so at least Orion will get to try out his snow boots. Tonight we lounged around, ate some supper, watched a movie, and messed with photo booth.  It was very relaxing with lots of giggles.  I'm looking forward to the weekend for sure.

Geeky 365 -- Day 131

Tonight was another evening with his daddy.  It wasn't real eventful, but they had a good time nonetheless.  The weather is supposed to be super crappy this weekend so Orion and I will be stuck in the house for most of the weekend.  Quality time with Orion is ok with me.

Geeky 365 -- Day 130

Ashley came out and spent some quality time with Orion last night.  It was fun to watch the two of them giggle and call random people on the phone.  It was a good night.
