Low key evening

Orion can always make me laugh.  Tonight he ran around pretending to be different types of dinosaurs.  First he puckered up his lips and said "look I have a beak".  The he put his hands on his forehead and pretended to be a triceratops, randomly ramming things with his horns.  He then showed me his sharp teeth and sang the entire trex song from dinosaur train.  In case you don't know,  the words carnivore, cretaceous, and  tyrannosaurus are all used through the song.  His vocabulary is outstanding.  I am quite sure that he knows more dinosaurs on sight than I do. Not only does he know ow their name but uaually he can spout some random fact associated with them,  such as any special features they have like horns or frills and what they eat.  He is incredibly intelligent and once he gets going the information just pours out of him. It is very impressive to watch.  I'm so proud of him and how intelligent he is.  He's an amazing little boy for sure.

Valentine's Day Love

Valentine's Day has never been a big deal in our household.  We made supper together and Orion helped me bake some brownies, which is always entertaining.  He tries to crack an egg but ends up shattering it in his hand instead.  He'll get it eventually.

He is also trying so hard to write more letters.  His name writing is awesome.  Everyone can read it (although it does occasionally look like "Orior") and I'm quite impressed by him.   It was a quiet night, but one that I got to spend with the boys I love, so I'm not going to complain even a little bit.  Happy Valentine's day everyone.  Remember that it doesn't have to be a holiday to share with people just how much they mean to you.

Self Portrait

Orion has never been much of a drawer.  He would generally prefer to write letters or scribble on paper.  However, for the first time ever he drew a picture that I could recognize....it was a self portrait.  I was ridiculously excited to see it.

He's growing up so fast.  In just a couple weeks he'll be 4.  Where has the time gone??

Love letters

Last night I got home later than normal and the greeting I got from Orion was like he hadn't seen me in ages.  It never gets old.  However, he had also made me a "present" while he was at school that he was super excited to share with me.  I honestly hope that his enthusiasm for life never wanes.  The smallest things spark his excitement and it always puts a smile on my face.  He tells me "I'm sooo excited" and it just cracks me up.  Anyway, this was his gift to me:

He has started to write my name just about as often as he writes his own.  It fills my heart with so much joy.  This envelope then had a "letter" in it with a lot of scribbles and a sticker of a triceratops on it.  Needless to say, it's now on my wall at work.  He was so excited to share it with me.  I love that little boy so much.  He always makes my day better, even when it's good in the first place.
