Geeky 365 Delay

I figured I'd let everyone know that I have not given up on my  365 project.  My internet at home has had "latency issues" (their words, not mine) since the 9th and is making posting practically impossible and posting from work is not always an option.  Once they get the issues resolved I will pick back up where I left off.  I will complete this project....just gotta wait for my ISP to fix my internets!!

Geeky 365 -- Day 174

What a busy day for Mr. O.  There was family to see, stores to adventure through, playgrounds to conquer, and friends to play with.  He ran so hard all day and was definitely worn out by bed time.  Here are some of the adventures we had today:

We walked through some of the bike trails in Lincoln.  Orion loved running down the path, but was also definitely excited to still be able to see the traffic.  We walked almost 2 miles!

We also chowed down on some Zhang's Chinese food.  I'm pretty sure that Orion is thanking some deity for the amazing Lo Mein he's feasting on here.

We went to a 1st birthday party for my cousin's daughter.  There just happened to be a pack of boys there.  They decided that the dirt in the back yard was the best place to play.

We also visited the park and played despite the crazy amount of wind.  I think it was a pretty great day for Orion, and that makes it an awesome day for me too.

Geeky 365 -- Day 173

It's Friday and the start of a busy weekend for O.  We ran lots of errands and Orion was in the kind of mood where he talked the entire time.  It was really quite entertaining, but by bed time he was definitely worn out.  Tomorrow we are going to a birthday party and spending time with my family.  Should be lots of fun for him.

Geeky 365 -- Day 172

Orion never ceases to amaze me.  I got his computer set up for him last week and he is already pretty good at working the mouse.  Yesterday I was making supper while he was playing and looked over and he had managed to switch games and was playing through a memory game.  He was 4 levels in.  He's such a smart kid!

Geeky 365 -- Day 171

A million giggles come from Orion these days.  It's so much fun to watch him and play with him.  It just doesn't get old.

Geeky 365 -- Day 170

Orion finally outgrew his awesome monster hoodie.  I was pretty saddened by it, but I can only let him run around with it for so long.  I searched around and managed to find him a bright red "rock & roll" hoodie with a mohawk on the hood.  I think it's pretty awesome.  He seems to approve.  We also had to get him new shoes, but that was a harder transition for him.  We told him his friends at school would want to see them.  That seemed to do the trick and now he's alright wearing them around.

He loves seeing his friends at day care.  He plays so well with them and is so excited to see them every morning.  He's great with the other kids.  I love watching them play together.  It's so dang cute.

Geeky 365 -- Day 169

The daylight savings time change hasn't effected Orion nearly as much as I expected him to. He was still pretty tired this morning but seemed to go to bed tonight without any trouble. Hopefully it will stay that way. I hate messing with his schedule like that. Oh well. He is a pretty adaptable kid.

Geeky 365 -- Day 167

Today was a busy day for O.  We went to the comic book store, which is always a lot of fun for us.  He gets to pick out his own and sometimes his choice cracks me up.  He walks around the store looking for familiar characters and when he can't find one he asks where they are.  It's fun to teach him their names.  After that we went to the SAC Museum which I absolutely love.  They had their asteroid and meteor exhibit going on and they had some really cool things set up for kids to play with and learn from.

Look at the big rocket mommy!

It's also really cool for O to get to see all of the air planes up close and personal.  He looks so tiny next to them.  It was a super windy day, but the sun was shining.  Next week the weather is supposed to be in the 70s.  I'm definitely ready for spring and getting to spend more time outside with O.  I'm sure he won't complain either.

He kept squatting down real low to walk underneath the planes.  It was super cute.

Geeky 365 -- Day 166

I really fail at blogging on the weekends here lately.  Hopefully it will improve but I really don't know.  I'm enjoying spending time with Orion and spending the evenings on other projects as of late.  Friday was a day just like any other.  We didn't do much exciting and I am ok with that.

Geeky 365 -- Day 165

Tonight was pretty laid back for Orion.  We made supper together, he took a bath, we played with his new kitchen set, and watched a movie.  He got ahold of my phone and snapped a ton of pictures of himself and me

So I took it back and we both laughed a lot while we took some impromptu pics in the kitchen.

It was a nice, quiet, entertaining afternoon for both of us.

Geeky 365 -- Day 164

Sometimes times seems to just sprint past us at a rate that's hard to keep up with.  It's kind of like trying to keep up with a 3 year old boy.   The way his little brain dances sometimes is just so much fun. The other day when we got home Orion asked for "black cookies" which is how he describes Oreos.  I told him no because I was making supper.  He looked at me and with all seriousness said "But mommy, they're tasty!"  I busted up laughing.  I don't know where he comes up with this stuff...but the kid definitely ended up with some Oreos.

Geeky 365 -- Day 163

We're still trying to get the house put back together around here after the weekend.  We have to find homes for new toys, new clothes need to be washed, the chairs/dishes that were hauled upstairs need taken back into the basement...and really we have to test out all the toys.  I think that has been O's favorite part.  He has to explore every single one.  It's a ton of fun to watch...but does make the house a bit chaotic right now.  Oh well, he's only 3 once.  I'm going with it and enjoying it while I can.

Geeky 365 -- Day 162

Back to our regularly scheduled program!  O's back at daycare and on our regular schedule this week.  It's been a crazy few weeks so I think we are both happy to be back to our normal schedule.  Orion had a fantastic weekend with all the family and friends, but it's time to get back to the daily grind.

Geeky 365 -- Day 161

Movies, shopping, and carousals.  What more could a 3 year old ask for on his birthday?  Happy birthday O!

Geeky 365 -- Day 160

Today was Orion's birthday party.  He had such a good time with all of his friends running around like crazy.  There were about 30 people at our house.  It amazes me to see how much everyone loves Orion.  He's an amazing little kid!  I can't even call him a baby anymore.  It definitely seems like just yesterday when we first brought him home.  The last 3 years have been such a blur.  How can time pass so quickly?   He has brightened my life in more ways than I can even begin to explain.  Tomorrow is his actual birthday and he will be spending it with just his daddy and me, and I'm ok with that.  He had his big party with lots of cake, presents, and balloons.  Tomorrow will be all about celebrating his life and showing him just how much we love him.  So Happy Birthday Orion!  Mommy loves you very much.

Geeky 365 -- Day 159

What a big day.  Today Orion and I spent the day with my mother running around town doing the last minute preparations for O's birthday party and a little bit of shopping for my mom.  First we took O to get his hair cut so he would look stylish for his birthday guests.  He wasn't super happy with the process but he looks great.

Next we ran into town for some lunch and of course had to make a stop at the arcade to bust out a few games.

Of course my sister couldn't resist giving him a birthday present early...he got a bike and this awesome bike helmet.  He was pretty stoked!

Plus he got to spend some time with his daddy.  What more could a boy ask for?

Tomorrow is his birthday party.  We will have a ton of people at the house so it should be quite the day.  I'm looking forward to it and I'm sure Orion is too.

Geeky 365 -- Day 158

Tonight O and I spent a bunch of time teaching him how to peddle his tricycle.   He would get the hang of the peddles and forget to steer and end up running into a wall.  He was motivated though.  It helps that his trike has a bunch of buttons that he was pushing over and over.  It was a lot of fun.  I love watching him grow and seeing all the fun things he's learning.
